Jeremy Boyle:
Graduating with an honours degree in Law from Staffordshire University in 1989, Jeremy qualified as a Solicitor in 1993 and went on to pass the Bar exams in 1999.
Jeremy is a specialist Insolvency and Commercial Law litigator having built up extensive experience over the past two decades. He is a member of R3 (the Association of Business Recovery Professionals), the Insolvency Practitioners Association, the Lawyers Insolvency Association and the British Spanish Law Association.
His clients include insolvency practitioners, local authorities, corporate bodies, chartered accountants and other professionals. He regularly gives lectures to professional training bodies and clients within the insolvency industry.
Before deciding to set up Welbeck Law LLP as a specialist debt recovery practice for local authorities, Jeremy practiced successfully in Central London for many years.
Once an ardent rugby union player, he now prefers more sedate pastimes such as reading and cooking and claims to rustle up the best paella north of Valencia. He is married to a solicitor and lives in South West London.
Having spent his childhood in Spain, Jeremy speaks fluent Spanish.
Mark Hodges:
Mark started his career in local government with the London Borough of Southwark in 1982.
During 17 years with Southwark Council, Mark was involved in the billing, administration and collection of General Rates and latterly, National Non-Domestic Rates and Council Tax.
Mark also helped the Council to achieve the ISO 9002 Quality Assurance accreditation and acted as Quality Manager for the Revenues & Benefits Department before resuming a managerial role with the Council Tax Enforcement Team. He is a qualified Quality Assurance Auditor.
In 1999, Mark set up his own professional consultancy, providing specialist assistance in local government revenue collection. He worked with several London Boroughs and helped to set up in-house insolvency departments at the London Boroughs of Hackney and Waltham Forest.
Prior to his ‘retirement’ due to old age, Mark was a dedicated footballer but now tends to pursue more relaxing hobbies such as reading, socializing and playing the occasional round of golf. By his own admission, he is also an extremely poor guitarist.
Mark lives with his partner in South-East London.
Christopher Ward:
While studying for his Law Degree, Chris worked for local government in both the Council Tax and Legal Departments. Chris also acquired extensive experience of Council Tax Law having worked as an Advocate and Representative on behalf of various Legal Charities.
Before joining Welbeck Law LLP, Chris embarked on a career at the London office of the Insolvency Service in Central London, where he worked closely with the Official Receiver and Assistant Official Receivers.
Chris has the benefit of a thorough working knowledge of the day to day systems and procedures used by The Insolvency Service and he has built up a good working relationship with The Insolvency Service.
Chris’ experience includes interviewing bankrupts and company directors, carrying out investigations into their affairs, drafting pleadings and bringing prosecution claims against both bankrupts and company directors on behalf of the Secretary of State.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys a number of activities. He can often be seen singing like an angel from the terraces of his beloved West Ham United, although those around him may well disagree with his singing talents.
